Whippet C101 History
The 6 cylinder Whippet Model C101 Truck which was rated at 30 cwt, was
similar to the Whippet 98A, but with a strengthened
chassis, 131 inch wheelbase and distinctive 6 spoke steel wheels. The 98A engine (3 1/8 x 3 7/8, 178 cu inch, 50 bhp) was used which had the exhaust manifold on the Left Hand side of the engine. Both front and rear brakes were mechanical and dual rear wheels were an option.
The chassis only price was $645, with the body usually being built
to customer specifications.

The C101 model number, but under a Willys badge rather than Whippet,
appeared for both 1930 and 1931, before being replaced by the C113 model
during 1931. Although the Willys C101 used
the same sequential numbering series as the Whippet C101, it used the improved Willys 98B engine (3 1/4 x 3 7/8, 193 cu inch, 65 bhp) which can be easily identified as having the exhaust manifold on the Right Hand side of the engine.
Rear brakes were now cable operated.
