19 Inch Wood Spoked Demountable Wheel Rim to suit 1931 Willys Model 97
Note: This was the first year Willys Overland used this modern type of rim which no longer required the use of a special rim tool to expand or contract the rim when the tire needed to be removed. The "well" or reccess gives enough of a cavity for one side of the tire circumference to be dropped into while the other side is levered over the rim edge via tyre levers. The same principle is used today for modern wheels. Willys Overland painted these demountable rims black instead of the traditional cadmium plate (silver colored) they had been using for so long.
